ROP is the classification we can use for both the registers i.e. for RG23A part 1 and RG1 while receiving goods. This is the reason why we are updating this manually using J1I5.

Same scenario when I tested on my quality server it is working fine but same case on production it is not getting updated, can you please guide me on this?

I will be thankful for this.

Regards,

Samir Rana

Done its GRN, now I want to update RG23A Part 1 register using tcode J1I5, I entered ROP as classification and all other necessary information after execution I got material document number.

But in same case on production server material document is not coming, can you please help me which step I am missing?

Regards,

Samir Rana

When the material is classified as RG1 in J1ID how can you take credit for RG23A. What is the tax code used in your Purchase order? Can you share your MIGO screenshot (Receipt of RG1 material)

I think system updates the classification irrelevant of Movement type in & Classification in J1I5. This is kind of a bug. You must implement a User exit to control incorrect updation of registers.

We are using excise modvat tax code.

But when we capture excise invoice using J1IEX in reference to goods receipt, It will give us the option to change material type from Finished to Raw material or any other material type.

According to you if we have set material as RG1 in J1ID then system should not allow to change its material type while posting or capturing of excise invoice in J1IEX but SAP give us the functionality to change it.

Can you please guide me where is classification and movement types relation define in system?

Yes, there is a provision to change the excise material type from RG23A to RG23C viceversa in MIGO or J1IEX screen. The Changed material type takes priority during posting of excise/document.

System checks whether the movement type is relevant for excise from table j_1IMVMT. (SPRO-CIN-INDIA-Specify which movement type involves excise)

I totally agree with you, according to J1ID settings, mvt type involved in excise invoices and as per classification behavior RG1 should not come in J1I5 for RG23A part 1 entries but still system showing RG1 material under RG23A Part1 register please refer given screen shots:

Please help me in this.

As told you earlier, there is a problem/bug with the incorrect classification updation in J1I5. You can check the user exit J_1I7_USEREXIT_J1I5_VALIDATE. I believe there are some sap notes available at market place for the said user exit/behavior. Please check once..
