error opening dataset return 8 in bdc

Hi,

I just recorded a BDC, changing Material Description in MM02, and saved.

Then I click 'Program' to generate source code automatically.

But when I run this program, "error opening dataset return 8 in bdc" occured

can anyone give me some ideas?

Just check whether the file is present in the given path . If existing , check the function of uploading which is used, if it is "TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP", just check the Microsoft XLS version.

Hi Ming,

There might be chances that while executing the program you might have opened the source/input file.

Kindly close the source/input file before running the program.

I found the problem

when click 'program' to generate the program, do not choose radio button "read from file" coz I am not gonna upload a file.
