topic GuiXT Screen Elements in Application Development and Automation Discussions

In GuiXT Screen Elements pane, I used to see the technical description of a field that I could use in scripts/recordings. Suddenly the technical attributes of the fields have vanished and instead they are showing up as positional attributes of the screen. Does anybody know what causes this? It appears to be linked to my Windows login but I can't be certain. All inputs are welcome.

Example in MM02 : a field that was F[MAKT-MAKTX] in Screen Elements and Scripts now shows up as F[#[2,12]] (which is the position of the material description). So this invalidates the scripts that have F[MAKT-MAKTX] usage.

Thanks

Kiran

Hi Kiran,

Technical name is a permanent identifier, with which you can always refer the field. As for them showing in screen elements, they mostly appear only when a Screen name is absent - for example, in cases where there's one label and two text boxes.

Are you saying that your script where you have referred a field by Technical name is not working anymore? That's very surprising, and I am sorry to hear that. Can you verify the "technical name" once again, by going in the Technical info of the Description field?

I'm sure you must have tried it all, but thought to ask still...

Best,

Vishal
