User License for BAPI

Dear All,

I want to know about user license using bapi,

My scenario is

SAP Portal - IVEW(Web Dynpro from SAP ERP) - ERP

if I use this scenario, I must have user license or free.

Hi Robby

licenses are always something hybrid if you know what i mean... Worse case scenario for you is 100% users use portal and also backend so you pay only the backend one. Best case scenario you have 99% users in portal that pay less expensive license and 1% of users that use both and you pay the backend one

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for the reply, I want to create custom iview which use BAPI or RFC enabled Function module. My concern is with the lisence, do i only need ess lisence to do this or is there any lisence i should be aware of.

Ess users, whatever they do in the portal, need an ess portal license.
