WBS Element display format

Hi all,

I am developing report regarding WBS Elements . To display the WBS I used PSPNR from PRPS table. The output is showing correctly in the ALV, but when i try to apply a filter on that column, it is showing internal representation. But i want the same format there also. How can i acheive this?

Hi Bhargavi,

May be you might be knowing...just try this.

Open SE16-PRPS, Settings-User Parameters-Data Browser-ALV Grid Display....it allows you to filter and appears in the same format. In settings -User Parameters select keyword as Field Label.

Did you try to hide PSPNR (Like field ctalog TECH set) and display POSID ?

(Also read Note 551605 - ALV FAQ - General information, look for conversion-exit in the note.)

Hi Bhargavi,

if you use PRPS-PSPNR you won't be able to filter like PRO0033*.

To achieve this, use PRPS-POSID.

hi Bhargavi,

You can try this alternate method.

Get the filter values using the class method get_filter(If Using Classes for ALV Display).

Then modify the data using the below mentioned conversion Routines.

CONVERSION_EXIT_ABPSP_INPUT

CONVERSION_EXIT_ABPSP_OUTPUT

Finally pass the converted data to the Filter Value for display.

This is just an approach suitable code needs to be writen to implement this.

ALV already perform so (*), but it is not able to manage wildcards, only exact values, read the OSS note in my previous post.

(*) with a correct field catalog of course -> perform consitency check of the ALV.

if i use POSID , im not able to get the WBS description in the required format. the format is being changed. and also im not able to see the full length of the WBS when trying to apply a filter. only truncated values are appearing when filtering..

Don't fill PSPNR with POSID but display actual field POSID, and that should have no effect on PRPS-POST1 display ?

Nevertheless ALV is not able to use filter with wildcard on objects with conversion-exit (see my other answer referenced note) so you must use the actual external format.

If some customizing/enhancement affect conversion exit on your system then use a WRITE or CONVERSION_EXIT_ABPSP_OUTPUT to convert PSPNR to a char 24 character field and display this field at screen.
