Dear Friends,

I have recently installed the SAP Web Dispatcher in front of our ESS/MSS portal with the ECC 6.0 system in the backend.

The system works fine for the standard iviews in the portal, like Salary Slip, leave application, Form 16 etc. But the pages which we have developed, like the WebDynpros and the GUI screens integrated into the portal etc. are not accessible from the Internet through the Web Dispatcher.

I have read the following blog, which exactly matches my problem and cleared my doubt:

http://scn.sap.com/people/rory.murphy/blog/2011/04/04/accessing-backend-content-through-the-enterprise-portal-from-the-internet

As per the blog, i could understand that I have to configure the landscape like the following diagram:

But regarding this SAP is silent as far as I have searched. SAP says web dispatcher is a free tool and provide configuration guides also, albeit for the upper path of the above diagram. There is no documentation as to how to configure the backend system access (ABAP/ECC).

I will be very much grateful if anybody is able to help me with this.

Regards,

Anupom

Hi Anupom

Please see the following SCN link which tells about the exact scenario. What you are observing is very normal and expected . You will need another web dispatcher

Basically the backend systems are not exposed to the internet and hence the issue..

Thanks

Rishi
