    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hi Gunasekar,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Did you solve your prolem? &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We had the same issue : "Web service ping failed (RC=401). Service Ping ERROR: Unauthorized". In our case (i assume there must be a lot of case for a such common error), we had a configuration error in our webservice. All is "local" (on the same abap instance), in our case. We didn't found any helpful traces in /usr/sap/&amp;lt;SID&amp;gt;/DVEB.../work directory.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;here is the error :&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;IMG class="migrated-image" src="https://community.sap.com/legacyfs/online/storage/attachments/storage/7/jiveimages/254513" width="450" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt; below, our configuration error:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;IMG class="migrated-image" src="https://community.sap.com/legacyfs/online/storage/attachments/storage/7/jiveimages/254514" width="450" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;we changed "Make local call" to "No call in local system" :&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;IMG class="migrated-image" src="https://community.sap.com/legacyfs/online/storage/attachments/storage/7/jiveimages/254515" width="450" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Then ping of web service was OK &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;IMG class="migrated-image" src="https://community.sap.com/legacyfs/online/storage/attachments/storage/7/jiveimages/254516" width="450" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Kind regards, jean&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have created FM based webservices and try to consume webservice via SOAPUI i am getting 401 unauthorized error.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Following step done, can you please confirm any step which was missed out due to the reason i am getting the above error.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;configured in SOA manager.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1. Create RFC FM &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2. create webservice via utility-more utillities-create webservice via FM&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3. Configure the webservice definition and specify the values and activate in SOAMANAGER&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4. open binded WSDL file working fine&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;5. SE80 via tested the service is working fine&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;6. Create logical port by using consumer proxy CO_SERVICE and specified the services&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;7. create service registry and try to publish, i am getting error message as ' Error retrieving Services Registry (SR) version information'&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;8. Try to consume via SOAP UI i am getting the above error&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
