screen painter: input/output field

Hello,

I add input/output fields to the screen. Some fields are defined as 'DATS', and some are 'TIMS'. To validate the input, I don't wanna user to input data to these fields manually. I wanna enable them to choose date from the calendar and sort of clock to avoid invalid input. How can I achieve this using screen painter?

Hi t s,

double click on your date field in screen painter. a pop up will open...put mara-ersda in NAME field in pop up screen. in the same pop up(Dict tab) check from dict. check box. go to 'program' tab and put '1 show at selection' in poss. entries key.. save and activate..execute and you will get your desired output in date field. OR you can define in global declaration area like

Data: date type ersda.

Data: time type uzeit.

your problem will be solved....

For date you could "play" with cl_gui_calendar (look via SE38 at SAP demo program like SAPCALENDAR_DEMO1 and similar report)
For time, you could break field in 3 fields and attach dropdown list with value 0-23/0-59/0-59

SAP Screen validates input irrespective of manual or system input.

Why involve extra effort?
