problem in transaction variant

Dear abapers,

i have created a transaction variant with screen variant for va01 tcode. it has been created successfully. in my case, i want to make my transaction variant user specific. for that , i go to 'standard variants' tab. here i create a group with text. system automatically generate a transaction variant. in 'standard variants' tab there is also a tabstrip which has 2 tabs named 'variant groups' and 'standard variants'. after creating group in 'variant groups' tab i go to next tab

'standard variants' for assign this system created transaction variant. i active it. but it does not work. same result come in different user(user1, user2, user3). but here i already define my required user name(user1 and user2) in 'variant groups' tab. but in user3 same result.....i dont understand it. please solve my problem.

Hi Sabyasachi Karforma,

First of all you have to create the variant group GROUP1 (T-code SHD0).

Next you need to create the transaction variant GROUP1VA01 with the relevant screen variants, so that the users of GROUP1 see the screen changes that you want them to see.

Now you can assign users to the variant group.

Enter the name of a user that you want to assign to GROUP1VA01, and choose Assign.

For the screen variants GROUP1VA01 of the variant group GROUP1 to be displayed for the user, you first need to select Set Proposal.

The user is assigned to the group and the associated transactions are started with the corresponding variants only once you choose the Set Proposal function.

If you now open the where-used list for users again, you can see that the user is marked with a cross.

You can use this procedure of user assignment for all other users that you want to add to the variant group.

hi kaushalya,

i think when i create variant group GROUP1 then transaction variant automatically created... i have also assigned screen variant to this transaction variant and also assign user name USER1 to transaction variant AND also cilcked on set proposal....i have done all. i assign my transaction variant to standard transaction code...but problem is that when i go to VA01 TCODE (for example) then it will right in user id USER1 . but in user id USER2 the result is same...in both cases the output is same....but here i assign only one user USER1...which is not correct....hope you can understand my problem.

hii dear abapers,

when i create a group then a transaction variant will create. i also assign user under this group. next if i go to standard variant tab then we can see a active and deactive button...what is next task? press active? or deactive???
