Regarding AL11 .

I have a doubt in my application server AL11, this is the path eq, /interface/y0xi/data/out/abc/xyz

when i press back it comes back to interface , i need to navigate in a hierarichal manner i.eneed

to come back in the same path which i ve entered. is there any way to do .

Hi,

simply double click the second entry ".." to go back one level higher in the directory hierarchy (this certainly works only if you went down into the subdirectory before). It's the same behaviour as if you use the "cd .." on OS level.

Hi Michael,

while going inside the path we can do it by just double clicking, but jus take dis e.g

i am in my final path /interface/data/out/xyz/avt n from here when we press back it comes back to the initial i.e. /interface ... req is we need to use ne fm or trxn or report where we can use our path and come back step by step... i.e /xyz/out/data/interface

Hi,

AL11 doesn't provide this functionality. The "Back" button will always jump out of the directory structure into the start screen of AL11. Also it doesn't allow to start within an directory and then climb up within the directory hierarchy.

To add a point to Michael, When you press back the directory directly jumps to the initial Directory that is true a Michael said. But if you just want to see whether you got any new record in the same directory check the Refresh Button. And there is one more important option that I can tell is if you have a FTP User and Pass for the Application server then check the below commands in Command Prompt.

Open Command Prompt.

Cd.. cd.. Come to Initial Directory i.e., C:/

Now type command to connect FTP as follows

FTP youapplservername -----> You can find this in the SAP logon Pad.

It will ask for a user name and password.

give you sapuser and password-----> Note in some systems Admin will maintain seperate username and password for this FTP Logon. Ask Basis team in case you failed to logon.

then check the PWD Command

now Move on to the directory wil CD command

example cd interface

cd y0xi

etc.....

finally we are here now

/interface/y0xi/data/out/abc/xyz

Use PUT command to place files in AL11

just like this

PUT textfile.txt

Do u know ne transactions or report or fm from which we can perform this.

This FM is only for F4 help in application server.

Hi Kaushik,

Yes it is for F4 help, it can be used as reference on how you can display the directory hierarchy.

I'm not sure if we have a standard report to see heirarcial view of files...You can create a z report with help of above FM... it does look like lot of work for achieving not much.

One of my colleague got the simple solution just double click on the top u can see ftp user .. just double click on that u can move back in a hiararichally....
