Update screen field

Hi Friends,

could you please give me some informations on how

we can update value of a screen field when another

field's value changes.

(it's not like in F4 help case)

when we enter a value into first field and without doing any thing else

an other field's value changes instantly

( i think its possible to create a control on field's value )

Dear Sellami,

I think it is not possible to update screen without any action.
If you are not giving any action how the system will trigger?
For doing somwe modification or something you need some triggering point which will be the created by some action.

pls make clear about your issue.

Question is...is this for a selection screen? or for a transaction screen? For data screens inside the transaction, what I have seen done is that a function type is assigned for the screen field that is changed by the user. Code P? or S? in the Function type for the field (in the screen painter attributes) . I forget exactly how it was set up. But when you have the right value, entry will trigger the PAI, where you can chain your fields, process a module and update the contents of the values on the screen, and it will be done without additional key press action by the user.

However, for selection screens, if the fields is one character, ou can assign a user command, which will triger the event AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT. However, I would suggest that you read your ABAP Help (F1) for at selection-screen event, particularly the addition

ON { paramater | select-option }.

This may provide the ability you need, since that would trigger the PAI of the screen, and inside your event, you could modify the content of the specific fields with a LOOP AT SCREEN....etc.
