Field status group configuration error from BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST

I am trying to post document through BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST

and it returned me this error with no line number

Field Profit Ctr is a required field for G/L account 0100 190’

when i simply replaced field status group for this GL account with another,this error is gone,.

But i thought BAPI always bypass field status configuration???

BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST must generate consistent FI documents, so the check for mandatory information is essential.

With BAPIs, you avoid other typical BDC problems like filling fields that are not visible on a particular screen or not following the actual screen sequence.

ahh.so ur saying if mandatory field is set in field status bapi doesnt bypass it?

Yes, as per my observation. Anything else would be really buggy.
