How to update custom Table?

Hi all,

There is a custom table 'XYZ'. I need to update that table and I don't know which column comes from which field. Is there any way to map table columns to the fields? As we know we change basic data fields in MM02 for standard table update like MARA table. Can we trace fields from the table?

Hello Sanju,

Your question is vague...If you created the custom table XYZ then you must know what fields it has and what values they must have. The question "I need to update that table and I don't know which column comes from which field. Is there any way to map table columns to the fields?" is unclear.

For ex. if you have field LIFNR then it means it is Vendor number and comes from table LFA1.

So if you place this field in your table you know it from LFA1.

I didn't create this table. Task assigned is to change values in the table.

Somebody comes to you and says here is the table and the values are not correct. Can you replace with correct value in that table? How do you approach this task?

Hi Sanju,

start with a where-used list for the table, do some code analysis and some guessing. Try to find out (by asking people) if the values in the table ar e incorrect, because

- the table is filled with wrong values systematically

- the values are considered wrong because relevant master data have changed meanwhile

- the values do not come from your system but have to be corrected to match your system's conditions

Anyway, first of all try to find out something about the process of filling and using the table and what the module contect is.
