      <title>Performance issue after EHP5</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;We upgraded to EHP5.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The Z program fetching data from BKPF, BSAK and BSIK is taking triple the time after upgrade.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We have a system with pre upgrade production and the same job runs for 30 mins where as post upgrade production is around 90 minutes.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any idea what we could do to identify?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We have 5 standard secondary index and one custom which came with the sap note: 194842.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;All index are active in both the systems and everything looks identical.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Basis just pushing on ABAP so no help.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Would appreciate your help.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Abhishek, Thanks but my question is why is the huge difference in 2 systems.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If selects are poor and data is huge, the performace should be poor in both pre and post upgrade.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi Prakash,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The indexes are checked in BSAK, BSIK, BKPF and look same in both.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am not sure if anything manually required to be carried out after upgrade.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I adjusted all 3 table indexes in SE14 but no use.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

If your upgrade was from a non-unicode to a unicode version, then keep in mind that storage requirement is now double (so the data you are extracting is double the size it used to be).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

What is your database, check if some parameters have changed like statistics in Oracle or other tools used by SQL optimization. Also do both system execute on similar actual system (CPU, I/O resources) with similar load tnumber of concurrent user, tasks, etc.)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Raymond&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
