SAP ECC ABAP Programs Testing with HP Loadrunner

Hi Experts,

We are planning using HP Loadrunner to perform tests to some custom ABAP Programs (Reports). Given that I don't have knowledge about this tool, I was hoping you can help me understand the following:

Do we need to install a server component and then have desktop clients on each tester workstation?

Hi Ricardo,

The main tools for monitoring SAP system activity are the Global Work Process Overview (SM66) and the Local Work Process Overview (SM50) in combination with SAP Server Overview (SM51). The CPU and RAM utilization (ST06) of each server should be monitored periodically during any test in order to identify bottlenecks.

The Loadrunner Controller is a standalone central console from which the load test is managed and monitored. Using a client side Load Generator, Loadrunner can have thousands of virtual users perform real-life transactions to emulate production traffic. The Controller collects the data from Load Generators and performs the analysis.

HP Sitescope is the recommended method to use with Loadrunner for monitoring of many components such as Server Resources, SAP or Weblogic systems. SiteScope is an agentless monitoring solution.
