Currency Conversion

Hi All,

I am trying to convert JPY amount to USD amount using BAPI_EXCHANGERATE_GETDETAIL like below.

But I am getting an error saying that

Taking the same input values in transaction EWCT like below.

I am getting the corret exchange rate for that date.

Please help me where I am doing wrong while using BAPI. Or is there some other way I need to achieve this?

Convert the date to 20120105 (or 20120501 depending on your date format) before passing to the FM.

EWCT seems to use rate type EURX for the conversion, so try that instead of M.

Check in table TCURR which rates are actually maintained.

Hi Thomas,

Tried using EURX in FM exchange rate. Didn't work. Table TCURR does not have the exchange rate 'M'. It only has BAL, AVG and P. What is this table all about. Should this table be maintained with M excahge rate? Please advise.

No further idea at this point. Speak to a functional or business person about how the exchange rates are maintained in your organization, debug the FM and the transaction to find out where the difference is.

If TCURR doesn't have exchange rate 'M', then I don't see how the example you used for the manual calculation would work.It used 'M' as well.

Hi, I have checked the position of the message mentioned by you in the FM 'BAPI_EXCHRATE_GETCURRENTRATES'. This message is being populated if no records are fetched from the table TCURR. So, it appears that the TCURR table is not populated correclty with the information required for the currency conversion. You need to maintain the TCURR table.
