Update profit centre using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA

Hi,

I am using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA to update the profit center in Material Master. But it always gives me an error saying - 'You want to change the profit center but material stock still exists'. I have been advised to use PRICES_CHANGE and PRICES_POST. But I am not sure how these two FMs changes the stock value. If anyone aware of the process please explain.

Did you check with functional person. Sit with him. Ask him to change profit center manually. High chances are there that he will get the same error. Ask him to correct if he gets the problem.

Hello Sharan,

It depends on what release are you on. There are few corrections that can be the reason. Please ensure note 1249513 is implemented. Error can also be raised if there is stock in previous period so you need to be sure there is no stock in current and previous period.

If you want to change the profit centre , you could maintain the message MM335 in OMT4 as a warning or wait till the next period when their would be no stock in current and previous period.
