BAPI_PO_CREATE1 slow performance with 2000 items

Dear Experts,

I've create an upload tools for PO with BAPI_PO_CREATE1, when the line item reach 2000 items or more. The performance is so bad, it takes approximately 50 mins to finish 1 PO.

I've done performance analysis with ST12 and the result shows that the most expensive operation is READ TABLE poext in program LMEPOF2E at line 99.

Has anyone experience the same thing? Is there any way to tune the performance?

I doubt it's a global issue. If it was, there would be an SAP note on this, so kindly search there. And reach to your local Basis admin. Such questions are usually not feasible to resolve on SCN, sorry.

Fell free to raise an incident to OSS, as this table (type ME_POEXT) is not a sorted type, for big POs you go to a full read on each item so n x n, can be considered a bug.

But, first, did you perform an OSS search for your version as there are already hundredths of notes on PO creation performance improvement.
