Column missing in ALV

I came across a very unusual situation.

We have a custom report which display multiple column in ALV.

One of the user (A) is having a issue. that users can't see one of the column in ALV.

But all other user can see everythng.

We tested by giving SAP_ALL access to user (A) but still can't see the missing column. That column is also not available in layout selection fields.

Any Idea?

Maybe the SAPGui is caching something locally?

You can try to log on with user A on a different workstation and test if the problem is user related or Gui related.

Try executing the program BALVBUFDEL anc heck it once again.

Hi, it appears output layout issue for me. try to change the layout of the output list, you may find that field in the hidden list.

I ahve reset the buffer with the program you mentioned above. I will check with the user if he can see the missing column. i will let you know.

Hello Aqva Cool,

If you create fieldcatlog using FM 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATLOG_MERGE' , then please check the structure or internal table.

The field which is missing, is actually not in that structure or internal table and thats why its not showing in output.

But unusual things is that, the user use to see all the fields. and then all the sudden got couple of fields disappeared. Is your solution is still applicable in my case?

Hi Aqva Cool,

Please confirm with the user if he has not kept the column Hidden in the Layout.

For that follow path on menu bar in the ALV output :

Settings->Layout->Change

Now ,check if the Missing Column is there in the Highlighted section.

If yes then please take it to Left side section .

In case if this is nor the issue, then check if any Filter condition is set over that Column

(company code /Sales Org. etc) which is responsible for filtering the column.

If issue still persists, then check if there is any condition on that Field in Fieldcatlog.
