Different message in va01: Defect in ECC6 server while saving the sales order .

Hi ABAP gurus,

I am in to upgrade Project In ECC6 server I am getting the different message when saving the sales order in va01 compare to old sever(4.7) .

I have to make it to the same message as it is in the 4.7 server.

plz help me .

Hi,

Debug the VA01 tcode and check where the the error message is being triggered in ECC 6, compare the corresponding Include code in 4.7, see any core modification is done at that particular location in 4.7.

        MESSAGE ID 'ZOTC' TYPE 'E' NUMBER '067' WITH
        'Please select Hours Confirmed in Additional data B'(302) 'for item'(303) xvbap-posnr.
      ENDIF.

this is the code in the PARTICULAR INCLUDE PROGRAM .

this is same in both the system ,but in ecc6 server,in message

popup it is not giving 'Please select Hours Confirmed in Additional data B' .

it is giving ORDER QTY FORMAT PERIOD (ITEM NUMBER(0010))

just see the what message is there for message number 067 for Message id 'ZOTC' in ECC 6, just check in SE91.

Put a break point here and check if it is throwing error at this place. I think error is thrown somewhere else.

What you can do is, the Include in which this particular message coded seems to be a custom include, just try to display any custom message instead of the ZOTC message and see what it displays.

Ex:-

IF xvbap-uepos IS INITIAL AND
xvbap-zzhrs_conf <> 'X'.

MESSAGE 'Temp message' TYPE 'E'.

ENDIF.

So the custom message working? then you can de as below,

IF xvbap-uepos IS INITIAL AND
xvbap-zzhrs_conf <> 'X'.

DATA : v_text TYPE c LENGTH 100.

CONCATENATE text-302 text-303 xvbap-posnr INTO
v_text SEPARATED BY space.

MESSAGE v_text TYPE 'E'.

ENDIF.

before above changes just check whether the text elements 302 and 303 are maintatined for that Include. just double click on the (302) and (303) in the below messages 'Please select Hours Confirmed in Additional data B' 'for item'(303)", if the text elements are not maintained, just maintain and test with existing ZOTC message only.

Hi,

the main problem I found in the program SAPMV45A

the text element descriptions are different in 4.7 & ECC6 servers,

that is why it is picking the different messages.

once the functional consultant give the clarification on which message he wants to go with then i can go forward

they want the messages (text elements) which are present in the 4.7

Hi,
May be SAP has added new text elements with given numbers in ECC 6.

'Please select Hours Confirmed in Additional data B'(302) 'for item'(303)

In the above messages double click on the 302 & 303, just see does it take to text elements of that numbers. If the corresponding text elements text are different, then change the text elements in the above message to some other number like 602 & 603 and double click on that numbers which will promt a pop up for asking 'Program Text .... does not exist. Create Object'. Click yes it will create text elements with new
numbers, activate and test.

Just follow the suggestion of Bala Krishna or you could just simply remove/delete the text elements 302 and 303 beside your message text.

i have fixed the issue.

It is the problem of the mismatch of the messages number, I just changed the messages number according to the ECC6 comparing with the 4.7.

Now it is working fine
