retrieve version of abap program

Hi Team,

I did the changes in the existing report and generated the version and becz of requirement cancelled so, i generated the version reverted my changes and added new changes in the same program and moved to quality. Now, i want to get back my changes which i reverted after generating version.

Kindly help me if anyone knows how to do it, after releasing TR i am not getting my generated version in version mngt.

Hi Manoj,

Have you used the same TR number for generated version and after you reverted the changes againe ?

if so there will be chance u will not get it back .

Hi,

As you said that you made some changes in the existing report. So before moving the request to Quality, the client's requirement changed. So, you reverted back the done changes, added the new requirements and then activated the program and transported the same to Quality.

Very sorry to say that you shall not get back the changes that you had done as before activating the program you had reverted your changes, added extra stuff and then you ACTIVATED THE PROGRAM.

Next time, try to make use of suitable comments while you make any changes to an existing report. This really helps a lot to the person who changes the same report in future to track what you had done. You can put such type of comment like,

* Changes done by <<Name>> on <<Date>> for <<requirement>>

Hi,

If you have made the changes in the program and save in a request also you had transfer it to quality then again in development you have made the changes and save in a new request, now to again get the old code go to se38 open in display mode click on utilities -> version there you can see all the request select the check box of request number which contain the OK source code make that active, or copy that complete code, again active the present request only and copy paste the code of earlier request.

Hi,

as you reverted the chnages and moved the new chnages in TR to quality so you cant get back the version you generated.

As When TR is moved you cant get the version you generated.

Hi Manoj,

You can do 1 thing. GoTo Se38-> Utilities-> Version Management.

Then select the version of TR & Compare it with the one existing in Quality. If you want to retrieve old Version. You can delete all the Code you have added by Remote comparison option. You ll get the differences between 2 versions An dyou cn make the changes accordingly & transport whatever version you want to Quality
