CATSDB is only used for individual records logged on a single day. It is not used by SAP standard to store total hours for an absence for an entire year. The variable used to store the total CATS hours is defined too short so it's causing a Time Statement will shortdump due to overflow error.

Does a new u201Ctotalu201D global variable (structure) must be defined to hold these totals?

If so, how so?

I don't thik so.

You're saying that CATSDB is not enough large. Do you mean you can't add many lines on it ? If yes, please refer to your server admin, i think they can enlarge the table capacity.

Hi,

Let me understand it clearly. The question is do you want to read all the absences during the period or only catshours (which may be different statuses like approved, waiting for approval etc.).

If it is only absence hours, it can be read directly from info type table 2001(PA2001) for each employee. If you are looking at catshours specifically, I wonder you might need to look at B2 cluster table. Please let us know what exactly are you looking at.

Regards,

Syam.
