ALV report width limitation

Hello,

IS there any size limitation for ALV output.

I mean ,the width of the output is 255 charecters or it can have more ?

you cannot display morethan 255 columns in the ALV Report.

hi Madhukar,

You cannot display the columns greater than 255 columns in an ALV Report. Any how You can any how give the width more than 255 it never pops you up any error.

For an ALV, the output can be more than 255 Characters.

Infact, I have done a report very recently, which has 320 characters.

as far as I know the limit is around 1040 characters. I hope it is 255 columns; iÄm not sure if it isn't 250.

Minimum ALV list width = 255 Chars

Maximum ALV list width = 1020 chars

Thank you everybody for replying to my quertion.

I think we can have more than 255 chars in ALV

output. I have tested this today and it is working fine. We can have a maximum of 1020 chars as mentioned by Venkataiah.

One more question

I am using the REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY function in my program and there is "Spreadsheet" option in the application tool bar of list. Clicking on this will launch excel with report data with yellow background color.

Is there any way we can contrl these colors and settings in excel?
