Translation problem

Hi,

In the new programs developed by us (Zprogram) when we use data in relation with sap data dictionary in the selection screen, the translation is not done automatically when we log in English language or we try to do the translation from SE80. Did we have to do some customizing to get this functionality?

SAP version ECC 6.0

Hi Daniel,

Are you trying to do translation for the selection texts in the selection screen?

if yes, for eg PARAMETERS: matnr TYPE matnr.

if you need translation for matnr in different languages then goto-> text elements->selection texts, provide selection text as material number . select that selection text , click on goto -> translation by providing target language and selection texts for the same.

we can achieve this functionality only if the required language available on server.

if you want show automatically i.e whcih was in the system data element , for this goto text elements , in selection text tab , check the check box Dictionary ref , then you get dictionary text automatically

if you want to do translations : go to in the menu bar ---> translations : enter tranlated language , and save it..

Go to SE63->Translation->Short Texts -> ABAP -> Program Texts, Enter the Target Program name and the Source Language and the Target Language and click on Edit.
