New field affecting Data migration Tools

Hi All,

If I add a new field(mandatory) to a standard table through append structure , how do I know whether it affects other data migration tools ? if it happens to affect how do I take care that the changes are reflected in other migration tools ?

HI AMit,

First things first.

I doubt if you can append a mandatory field to an existing table.As per my knowledge you cannot do this.Leave alone the other problems in data migration.

hi amit,

suppose if you have added an mandatory field for a particular table say KNA1 and say you r passing customer master details thru ALE then you need modify the outbound program as well as inbound program inorder for your changes to take effect else it wont be transferred...

AS PER YOUR REQUIREMENT

YOU R ADDING A FIELD IN A STANDARD TABLE USING THE APPEND STRUCTURE.

GENERALLY IT SHOULD NOT AFFECT OTHER DATA MIGRATION TOOLS.

IF IT AFFECTING ANY OF YOUR DATA MIGRATION TOOL THAN YOU HAVE TO CHECK WHEATHER YOU R PASSING ALL THE CORRECT DATA WITH THE APPROPRIATE FIELD NAME .

but i can make it mandatory in the screen right ? so that the user has to enter a value in that field .
