Vendor Search Help

I have a user that is requesting that Vendor PO Box and PO Box ZIP Code be added to the Vendors by Address Attributes tab in the Vendor search help screen.

Any ideas with where to start?

goto se11

create searchhelp by selecting the fields pfach , pstl2 , adrnr from table LFA1

now after activating the search help assign that object to ur required field

for further help on creating search helps plz refer

Sorry for the delay. This project was put on hold.

Ganesh - Thank you for your help, but I am unclear on what you are suggesting. You want me to create a brand new elementary search help and then what? How do I tie this back to search help KREDX (Vendors by Address Attributes)?

I attempted to just add the two fields (PFACH & PSTL2) to KREDX, but they do not show up in the search help. Am I missing a step or can this not be done.

Aaron,

For example from XK03 tcode the main search help is KRED and an elementary search for address is KREDA.

Here you need to copy KREDA search into ZKREDA

and view M_KREDA to ZM_KREDA and include PO BOX etc fields as required.

I copied KREDX into ZKREDX then added the additional fields as Search Help Parameters. KREDX contains no view.

I then included ZKREDX in KRED. Still not working. Am I doing something wrong?

Create you own search help, append it to KRED and hide the original one.

(Transactions SE11 and OB50)

This search help calls screen SAPLSZA1 0201, which has an enormous amount of fields, one of them is the field I want to display, so this seems to be a configuration issue... I still don't know how exactly it works... but I will

And voilà... to the original poster, if you had to go through making a Z search help and replacing the original with the Z one to add a field in the tab Vendors by address attributes, I'm affraid you solved the "hard" way. There is a structure called VENDOR_FIND where you can add the fields you want to use to search for vendors.

Actually, the search help uses FM VENDOR_SEARCH_DIALOG, which bypasses completely the search help itself... that's why the Original Poster complained about changing the search help and nothing happening!

I guess he had too well copied the search help, with the exit, no luck. Had he created a search help from scratch, he would not have get any problem...

My solution was creating an Append Search Help in KRED. From there I simply included custom elementary search helps inside the Append Search Help.

Bruno,

appended name3 to Vendor_find and the field appears on the screen and hit list.

But the search doesn't work and returns nothing.

Appended name3 to addr1_find and the search returns everything not just selected.

What's the secret I'm missing to making this thing work.

Hi Barth,

That was over an year ago. I hardly can remember what I had for lunch yesterday. Well, actually yesterday is easy because I have Mexican every Sunday.

Anyways, try setting a break point in the FM I mentioned. It shouldn't be too hard to debug. And it will answer two questions, if it is actually where the vendor is being fetched, and what is going on.

If all else fails, open a new thread explaining what you've done and what the results are, as this topic has been closed.

Ok I had a few minutes so I debugged it for you.

Apparently you also need to add "NAME3" to structure ADDR1_FIND.

Give it a try and let me know.

And to complete my answer a little further, I think you're having some bad luck...

As usual with SAP, there's some really poor coding around here...

And if you look into function module ADDR_SEARCH_V2, it seems that the fields which you can use are hardcoded.
