SHPMNT vs. SHIPMENT_CREATEFROMDATA

Hello,

SAP has IDoc message types SHPMNT and SHIPMENT_CREATEFROMDATA. They both can be used for receiving inbound files to create IDocs that generate shipments. My questions are as follows.

1. What are the differences between the two message types?

2. What are the pros and cons of using either one?
