Can somebody explain how SAPGUI recording can be invoked through ABAP Program. Suppose if I want to record MM01 transaction I need to trigger it through an ABAP program and the recorded data should be downloaded in the form of a file.

In short, the program should work similarly as the sapgui recording.

I dont think there is possibility to execute an ecatt script from an ABAP program, however you can call an abap program in the ecatt script also the ecatt can be triggreed from the test workbench.

Thanks & Best regards,

Ajay

I don't understand very well. Are you looking for transaction SHDB ? (it can record MM01 and save the recording as a file, and it can be played through an ABAP program)

Or is it pure eCATT?

Sandra

Hi Sandra,

What I'm looking for is a standard template wherein if I pass any tcode and that transaction is run with the inputted values it should record the entire flow and should be saved in the form of a file with the recorded details. This is not related to ecatt but has to record sapgui. We have script recording and playback option in SAP.This stores the recorded details in the form of a vbs file wherein we can execute this at a later time by just double clicking on this file. I need to automate the same way through a program.

Thanks..

Hi,

so you could do it with batch input technology, using the transaction recorder -> transaction SHDB (see my previous answer)

Nonetheless, some transactions cannot be recorded correctly, in that case SAPGUI scripting could work better. Note that you can adapt the latter, into ABAP using OLE statements ([ABAP documentation: OLE Interface|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABENOLE2.htm ]), but you'll have to do everything from scratch (to be compared to SHDB where it generates the program).

Sandra
