This is customer fields in screen 9999 in program SAPMP56T.

Before changing data element (type), it works fine. After I changed from data element CHA18 (ZZ_MYFIELD) to NUMC2 (ZZ_MYFIELD2), it gives dump.

I can't see table content direct in SE16 because it is stored in a cluster table.

Any idea ?

Thanks.

Glauco

Looks like the program tries to import an already existing data cluster component into your changed structure. The problem is that at the time the cluster was EXPORTed, the USER structure (defined by PTK99) contained a character field and now you changed a component which the IMPORT cannot handle.

I suppose as long as there are existing clusters in PC11(TE), this will not work. You'd have to get rid of these clusters but I don't know HR so I'm not sure if this is feasible.

As mentioned, the problematic clusters are in PC11(TE). Technically speaking, it is possible to delete clusters from that work area, but doing this may easily cause data inconsistency, so I wouldn't recomment this without knowing exactly what data you are dealing with.

I think you'll need to get help from the HR application folks to get rid of the affected data. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with HR, so I cannot tell you how to do this "properly".

You could try to write a simple utility program that reads all existing PCL1(TE) clusters, clears the USER fields then re-exports these with the same keys... you'll have to look into the logic through the module pool SAPMP56T to see what the cluster strcuture is.

The macro definition RP-IMP-C1-TE is in program RPC1TE00. That's where the problematic IMPORT happens.

Change the structure PTK99 back to how it was, IMPORT all the clusters in PCL1(TE), clear compnent USER and EXPORT with the same key. You can use SELECT on PCL1, so you'll know the keys from PCL1-SRTFD.

The trouble with this method may be if the cluster isn't being IMPORTed in that macro completely, because then it may contain fields you don't read and those will be lost. The ACCEPTING TRUNCATION in that IMPORT statement is certainly not a good sign, because that'd assume the target isn't 100% complete.

You may have to play in a creative way with the various options of the IMPORT statement to successfully read the existing old data.

Once you succeed to clear out the USER component of those clusters, you should be able to redefine PTK99.

New trip data should not get any data dump since the EXPORT happened with the changed structure already.

Well, if you don't care about existing data, then just create new records with the changed structure. Those will not cause a dump. Old, existing data will dump but if you don't need them and don't mind the dumps, then why bother?

Not the cleanest solution, but it'll work.

Thank you very much.

The answers were quick !

OK. Only to learn about it, I'm going to create a Zprogram to import/export again all the data.

Thank you very much.

Glauco

Hi Glauco,

I am getting the same Kind of dump .

I am working on a Upgrade project ( ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0).

there is a dump with the error message 'CONNE_IMPORT_WRONG_STRUCTURE'

this is because the table PTK10 contains a standard append structure PTK10_APPEND.

In ECC 5.0 the the append structure contains only 1 field in ECC 6.0 it has 7 fields after that there is cusotm append.

this causing the problem . Can you please let me know how to proceed further?

Regards,

Sriram.
