Technical Settings Error in Release

Hi All,

I have released an request with wrong Data class in technical settings. When got released error out with wrong Data class.

1. Now i have changed the data class and saved in different request.

2. When i am trying to push this request...it's throwing an error in release. as table is not active.

A. The table is not active as wrong data class.

B. If i push data class....it's not success, as table is not active.

What is the possible solution in-order to move the table.

hello,

you have to delete wrong data class entry, put that correction into transport and create new one. That'll work.

You need to activate and adjust the table - T. Code: SE14

Then you can do the changes. Since, your request has been released, a new request will be created with the changes.

have you checked both the tables in DEV SERVER and Quality Server..in terms of fields? are all the fields are identical?

For ex.

if the table has a field with CHAR in quality server, and then there is an entry created in quality server.

and now you have change that field to NUMC type and then trying to move to quality server, your transport will result in dump.

is there any data in quality server in the table?

can we delete the data in the table in quality server and then move the transport?

Hi,

Simple solution can be:

1. First verify that discrepancy is only in terms of data class. You have not specified the exact scenario.

Is it customizing table or application table? Is it also having maintenance generator?We can have different reasons here?

2. First get the table activated and then change the data class.

hi manju nagendra,

please do the following

delete the wrong data and save it , it wil ask for a a tr.

next goto se14 and enter the name and click on adjust and activate .

now transport the tr.

and do whatever necessary.

hope it is solved.

next change your technical settings and click on save it wil be saved in that tr of if already transported then it wil ask for another tr.save it and activate it and then transport it to req server. hope your purpose is done.

Hi All,

Thanks for your valuable time to send your views... Sorry to inform. None of the above suggestions Worked out.

The solution i did is... Deleted the Database table along with table maintenace. Re-created the data base table and uploaded the data with new table maintain generator.

1. If we create new data class, new transport request will be created, but it will contain onlt that technical setting object.

So, creation of new data class will not work.

2. Se14 is used when you need to adjust your database and not the settings of the database table.
