Hi Everyone,

I have question for BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEREPLICA that I couldn't find. Can we perform update and insert both function in same one bapi call. For example for material PAT0234 and Sales org 1034 I want to insert and for material PAT0234 and Sales org 5050 I want to update information. So basically is it possible to update and insert for same material but different sale org. If not possible then why it is not possible. All your help and suggestion will be greatly appreciated. If you know any detailed documentation please let me know. I have already SAP provided document but I think that is very short and not detailed one.

This Bapi inserts data for a material sales org distribution channel combo is the material does not exist for that VKORG VTWEG combination.

if it exists, it will update the data correspoding to flag set in salesorgX internal table values..

so if u have 2 different records for sales org and distribution channel for the same material.

internal table salesorg will have 2 entries corresponding to 2 records.

and client table will have 1 entry with just the material number and base unit of measure required..(not if its already there).

the function of FUNCTION field in every structure of this bapi is redundant. no use of that.

try this , it will work out.

Yes ! it is Possible.

This BAPI_Material_savereplica allows you to create or update multiple materials in one go. that is why it is different from bapi_material_savedata which allows creation or updation of only one material at one go.

there is a field FUNCTION in every structure of BAPI. BUt telling frankly , that field is redundant.

because no matter whether you give INS ( For insert ) or UPD ( For update) in that field, for creating and updating material respectively, this bapi will automatically check for the material, if the material exists, it will update the material or else it will create a new material with the data accordingly.

So, it is possible creating a material and updating another material in one go.
