Standard Search Help Modification

Hi All,

I am using one standard search help to get the ORG STRUCTURE in my ABAP selection screen. When the user is pressing the F4 option it will display the standard org structure using the standard search help and the user can select the ORG UNIT (multiple org unit selection is also possible) from that help. Now my requirement is little tricky.

1. When the user is pressing the F4 option it has to display the org structure only from his current org unit till the end of the org structure instead of whole org structure.

2. The user should be able to select only one org unit which is his current org unit(the selection checkbox should be available only for his org unit instead of all). The selection should not be available for other org units.

I am actually checking all the search help exits. Please let me know if any one can help me in this.

Hi Burak,

Thanks for your response. I have gone through the link. There is a Help search Exit attached with the standard search help for this Org unit display. But could you please give me some more idea how can I use that?

Via the exit, insert code to modify the contents in the table returned, considering the transaction that is running and the requirements you have already stated.

If I understand correctly I need to get the access key to do the necessary changes in the exit as per my requirement and implement the restriction in the Exit?

Hi Karthik,

go to se19 tr.Create badi implementation for "HRBAS00_SEARCH_EXCL".

Activate this badi.

And in this badi u will see a method called "EXCLUDE_SEARCHHELPS".In this method you can make development.The data to show user is in SHLPTAB table.just exclude what u want.

Yes I made the implementation. I will include the necessary code changes in it now. But When ever the standard search help is being called it will go via this BADI and exclude the details and will display only the necessary value. Is it correct?

this can be achieved by the below process as well.

- append a collective searchhelp to this standard searchhelp(x).

- in the collective searchhelp, include all the standard searchelp which are there in 'X' and mark them as HIDE.

- at the end include a new custom elementary searchhelp.

- right ur logic to fetch/display what you want in this custom searchhelp.
