F4 / Help restriction for user ?

I have checked all the threads, not having suitable solution

I am looking for user to be restricted F4/help option, how this is possible.

I want to give user only the transactional entries for given tcodes and the same user never to get F4/Help option display.

Please help

Basically i am looking for solution whether it is from standard or non-std programs.

Kindly note our user has to perform only the following transactions

VL01N/J1IJ/VT01N - Restrict all fileds which are having F4/help dropdown option

i have forgot to mention the fields, we want to restrict user to for following fields restriction/f4 in mentioned tcodes

ship-to-party (vl03n/ji1j)
FwdAgent

please help if anyone is succesfull in restricting/f4/help -display/dropdown for user.

Hi Srihari,

I think your request is quite peculiar. I don't know any customizing, nor user exit, to restrict all these helps. For F1/F4, you could do a modification of the standard HELP_START function module, but I don't advise it as it is a central basis tool. For listbox fields, I only see the solution below.

Probably your best chance would be to use GuiXT (via transaction and screen variants of the SHD0 transaction) to redesign these screens, you can attach the transaction variants to a group of users.

There are also 2 other input helps that you might like to disable: input field history and SET/GET parameters.

What for, by the way?

Thank you so much for your valuable inputs on our requirement.

We are starting a new business unit for doing the Transactions at different locations and it is known potentially risk to know our database (master data, etc). Come what may we have to start the unit, but we are trying to explore the minimum to minimum information is listed in SAP by f1/f4 or trying to restrict the same with the forum experts help, as we are going to do only 2 or 3 transactions using mentioned Tcodes.

Restricting the standard F4 Help is actually not possible unless standard has a user exit inside the Value Help Event. This is not the case many times as your F4 is triggered from dictionary only. What you can do is make Z programs similar to the ones you are looking at and make your own data elements with what values you want to show to user. Now you can use Call Transaction statement. That will do the trick.

Kindly check if any search help exit is available for that field search helps, if available, then you can create your own restriction

by using enhancing source code method Or implicit/explicit method.
