Hi,

well, this is not strictly related to ABAP programming...

IMHO, you'll have to think about what should the users do with that notification message: create a purchase order to feed the stock? How often do they buy material? Once a day? Once a week? Then, it makes no sense (again IMHO) to send a notification more often than once a day/a week. Just make sure that they receive the notification before they enter the purchase order.

I remain open to further opinions.

I hope it helps. Kind regards,

Alvaro

Hello,

My client wants, a notification message when the stock of a specific material drops to 1000 pcs.

I thought to create a report and a customizing table with 3 fields (material quantity message). The report will run in background job and if finds the stock below the limit it will send an email or a notification through SAP.

The problem is that, how often should this report run, and what if a message has been sent ? i dont want to full up with notifications.

If there are any better ideas about handling this issue, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Report needs to be run as often as they order quantities in the purchasing department, if it's once a day then set it once a day but it they order multiple times a day then also still set it once a day (not more than once a day). Regarding the multiple notifications you may wanna create a check by creating a z-table where in it writes the date of notification and material number, plant etc the notification sent date. If the entry already exists then your report should exclude those material entries to be sent as notification.
