Version Management for Variants in different systems

Hi Team

Can we do a version management for Variants.

For example we have a Report program and it has the following selection screen parameters

Company Code - Value is Entered say for example ZC1

Plant - Value is Entered say for example ZP1.

Doc Type - FA

Date - Empty

Now we have saved this as a Variant and transported the same from the Development to Quality environment.

Say now we had saved this as TEST.

Now we have a requirement to update the value of Date field so obviously we can save it in the same variant TEST itself and

the same can be transported again .

My question is that like doing a version management for any program to track the changes can we do a version management kind of stuff to know what are the current values of the variant in different environment

There is no version management for variant values as there is for e.g. program code. For comparing values in different clients/systems, there are a few function modules in group SVAR that you could use to build your own tool, unless somebody suggests a standard functionality for this (I don't know one).

Thanks for the information .

Even we had the same conclusion but before that i thought of checking the same.

It could be grateful if you could guide me regarding the function group / function modules.
