EKPO-LFRET, BAPI_PO_CREATE1, and BAPI_DELIVERY PROCESSING_EXEC

At my current site, when an STO is manually created via ME21n with one line item, the created line item has ekpo-lfret set to a certain value ("NL".)

But this field is NOT maintainable via BAPI_PO_CREATE1 - nothing like it is in BAPIMEPOITEM.

This is causing me a problem when I try to use BAPI_DELIVERY_PROCESSING_EXEC - I get a VL 295 and I think I'm getting this eror because there's no value in ekpo-lfret for the system to move to the itab field komdlgn-lfart. (My suspicion here is that when BAPI_PO_CHANGE is used to add a line item to a STO that's been manually created, the problem doesn't arise in BAPI_DELIVERY_PROCESSING_EXEC.

So question - has anyone experienced this problem? I need to solve it because we need to use BAPI_DELIVERY_PROCESSING_EXEC because this is the "delivery create" BAPI that explicitly doesn't require entries in VETVG.

PS to Rob - I am going to ask a related question in the financial forum, but purely from a "config" point of view. Please do NOT kill the post as a "dup", because it's NOT.

djh

Hi Pablo - thanks for the note - I will definitely check it out.

In the meantime, I realized after posting the question that when I provide the itabf the structure BAPIDELICIOUSREQUEST to BAPI_DELIVERY_PROCESSING_EXEC, I can explicitly set "DOCUMENT_TYPE_DELIVERY" in this structure.

And I think this will solve my immediate problem.

But I'm still curious as to why BAPI_PO_CREATE1 isn't defaulting the corresponding ekpo-lfret value into the PO line item in the first place, and that's why I'm going to check your note.

Best

djh
