Events are to Integrate Customer-Specific requirements in to SAP system without modifying SAP program. These are enhancements provided by SAP.

Its specifically for FICA events and some other events used for Mass run activities.

In the Events there are Function Modules. Function Modules are run when event is reached in the program.

Function Module runs for each event. It determines the event module stored for processing in customizing from following tables:

TFKFBM - Sample FM for FICA

TFKFBS - Application from std. The go to FQEVENTS and search for the event number, and do the custom coding.

Function module to determine your event : FKK_FUNC_MODULE_DETERMINE.

When u double clicks an event, u can find the documentation of specific event and what it does. It’s important to read it.

In the function modules section, there are 3 sections of Function modules

1) Sample FM (this has some sample code and Defines just the interface)

2) Standard FM, which are the system defined implementation of that specific event, which has the standard code.

3) Installation specific FM, are the user defined FM’s, to define a user defined FM, u should copy the FM from the Standard FM and then do your coding in there, and then u have to edit customizing (there is a button for this) to add the user function module to the list.

Checkbox Additional Functions :

Specifies whether several function modules can be processed in this event or a maximum of one.

1) If It is set, any number of installation and std FM’s can be there for the event, these type of events are just like for post processing, and doesn’t return any values, and hence there can be any number of these. All the FM’s are excecuted in this case. Sample module is not called.

2) If it’s not set, only 1 fm can be defined in STD and installation fm’s and these can return any values. Only the customer module is executed in this case. Sample module is called. See screenshot.
