Issue - Microsoft Office Excel

Hi Experts,

We have developed a customized CO report for my client. The output of this report is in 2 formats: ALV & Excel.

When the report is generated, the output is about 191,000 lines (for 9 periods) in ALV view. When i choose to view in excel, the programs run but the report does not get executed in excel.

But when i run the report with minimal selection (which would have about 60,000 lines) the report can be executed in excel.

My PC is installed with Microsoft office excel 2007. I am using SAP GUI 7.10 with patch level 16.

Could it be due to file format in ABAP coding .xls which limits to 65,536 rows. File format in .xlsx (Office 2007) has 1048576 rows. Or is there any upgrade or patches needs to be done

Appreciate your suggestion on this issue.

Have you checked note 1429136? You can also try to other notes related to your problem.

Hi.,

I think it is the limitation with excel 65,536 rows. try to divide the lines into 60,000 ..... and populate to multiple sheets in excel.

but 1 doubt is if it is the limitation with excel, when u have 105521 lines then first 65,536 records has to come in excel.!! ok try to populate to multiple sheets and check..
