Validation on selection screen at runtime.

Hi experts,

I need to validate the selection screen Block b1 when the user starts to move cursor to any fields of Block b2.

Not by pressing Enter. If it is By enter, it can be handled by at selection-screen output.

I need it with mouse cursor. i.e., user will not press enter to go to block b2. He will just use mouse.

Before this user action, perform validation should be done.

Plz let me know if you need any more details on the same.

I guess it cannot be done as no function code is associated for mouse click.

Here its event driven so what you are asking is not possible ( its possible in web development languages like in events onblur,onfocus etc ).

Hi,

As there is no event associate to track mouse it can not be done.

However, if you are pressing any radio button or check box by mouse you can validate it.

Hi Praveen,

if you dont have SELECT-OPTIONS and only PARAMETERS in Block one then you can use POPUP_GET_VALUES fm in PBO/AT SELECTION SCREEN and get the values from user and based on these values you can call the actual selection screen

This is a work around

REPORT ZTEST_RAM.  " Just Copy this and execute and check 
parameters : maktx type maktx.

at selection-screen output.
  data : fields type standard table of sval with header line.
  refresh fields.
  clear fields.
  fields-tabname = 'MARA'. " Just Copy and Execute this
  fields-fieldname = 'MATNR'.
  fields-field_obl = 'X'. " To make this Field mandatory
  append fields.
  call function 'POPUP_GET_VALUES'
    exporting
*   NO_VALUE_CHECK        = ' '
      popup_title           = 'Give your Title'
*   START_COLUMN          = '5'
*   START_ROW             = '5'
* IMPORTING
*   RETURNCODE            = RETURNCODE
    tables
      fields                = fields. " For more info Take Where used List on this FM
* EXCEPTIONS
*   ERROR_IN_FIELDS       = 1
*   OTHERS                = 2.

  select SINGLE maktx FROM makt into maktx where matnr = FIELDS-value and spras = 'EN'.

And based on the values provided by user in PBO part you can process and provide the values of second block or enable or disable certain fields of block 2 etc
