Append text to Save_Text

Hi Friends,

Is there any way to append to the existing tdname.tdid.

I have to add the new lines to the existing text. what are the optons i have to use save_text

You read the existing text, add your lines and save the text with the same name, but with your additions.

Thanks for your answer, i too have that kind of idea like first use Read_text then do old text + new text and again use save_text, instead doing this is there any way direct we can use save_text to append the new text to the old text.

when i have cehcked the documentatoin of save_text there is insert parameter if i give 'X' it is not running.

is there any way we can use some parameter to save_text and append the tdline.

first refresh the table and given the loop and give append stmt so that u changes can modified in the output in workarea

First of all INSERT in SAVE_TEXT is for inserting the complete new text.

Have you checked the FM: EDIT_TEXT_INLINE - as per the documentation, this seems to work for your process.

There is no other way as far as I'm aware.

Honestly, it is really not that hard to first read, then enhance and finally save the text.

Hi Tamas,

you are correct, but my requirement is not that much straight forward.

I am using CRMXIF_ORDER_SAVE message type updatig the data with LSMW data migration program.

I am trying to send some parameters kind of flags from the program, if save_text can handle.

Other wise i need to write a sperate program to updat only the texts.

Still if any one help me it will be great.

i have got an idea but it suits or not i don't know Use Do (where you can add lines )with systemvariable with sy-lndex so you can get it.

I'm not familiar with that function module so I checked it in a CRM system.

It looks like it has some interface elements to handle text, but if that doesn't suit your requirement, you are always able to enhance the LSMW process and add any code to the logic. So theoretically, you could update the text that way.

Just make sure you use the SAVEMODE_DIRECT parameter when saving the extended text lines.
