hi experts,

i am converting the excel file into internal table by using the function module ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE . I have the single row and 5 columns in my excel file. one of the column is sales division(spart) and the value is 00 . while converting this to internal table i got the value as 0. how to avoid the zero compression here, because i need to pass this internal table to trasnaction VA01 using BDC technique, while doing so it shows the error message there is no division called 0.

kindly help me to find the solution.

thanks in advance

Hi,

This compression of zero is happening because the target fiels is a non character like field(i.e interger or packed).

I would simply suggest you to chnage the type of the field in the internal table to numeric or char.

I would not suggest the use of Function Module if the above solution works.

Thanks

Ajay

Hi

This is happening because the excel file in assuming it to be a numerical value than a text, and change the cell format to Numeric. I would suggest you to send the value as ="00" instead of just 00. What this does is it makes the cell format as text and the leading zeroes will be preserved.

Regards

Ranganath
