Yes. BAPI transfers the data from extension by the field names. You don't need write any code.

Flow is like this: EXTENSIONIN -> BAPE_VBAK -> VBAKKOZ -> VBAK

Hi Elisabeth Roith,

Yeah, you can update as many Fields as you wish to. There isn't any compulsion to update whole table. Hence, in your case, you can update only those fileds which are required to be changed.

Thanks.

Kumar Saurav.

You have to pass mandatory fields like sales document number and the fields which you want to change. No need to pass all the fields of VBAK.

Thanks,

Vinod.

Hi,

I assume that you are talking about Adding Z fields in the bapi extension structures from your below quote. Correct me if I was wrong.

my question is do I have to add ALL my VBAK customer fields

Yes. You should add all the Z fields in BAPE_VBAK, VBAKKOZ and their X structures too. Because all the Z fields in VBAK are passed as a single (perhaps till 4 depends on the length of Z fields) into structure valuepart1 (2,3 and 4). In case if you miss even a single field, Field positions will be collapsed.

As per my understading of BAPI extensions, we should create Z fields in above structures AT LEAST till the field you want to change. But I've never tried this before.
