Convert file from unicode to non-unicode

Hi All

We have recently upgraded the system from 4.6C to ECC6.0, we have program which transfers the file into the application server and the same will be picked by the data ware house system, here is the issue, the data ware house system is a non-unicode system and the SAP system is a unicode system after the upgrade, so the data ware house system is expecting the non-unicode file. We have used the statement Open dataset with encoding NON-UNICODE, it is working fine for all languages except Chineese, Korian, Japanese and Turkish language, for these languages we got the below short dump.

A character set conversion is not possible.

What happened?

At the conversion of a text from codepage '4102' to codepage '1100':

- a character was found that cannot be displayed in one of the two

codepages;

- or it was detected that this conversion is not supported

The running ABAP program 'ZSDEX111' had to be terminated as the conversion

would have produced incorrect data.

The number of characters that could not be displayed (and therefore not

be converted), is 18. If this number is 0, the second error case, as

mentioned above, has occurred.

Could any one suggest me the solution for this.

check the correct code page.

GO to transaction SCP to view all code pages.

some characters are not supprorting the codepage.

Hi Sreeni,

from my point of view you have two options:

1) do not use the data with the mentioned language keys, as this data is anyhow NOT supported on the BW side

2) convert the BW system to Unicode
