ALV Tree program not working after upgrade

We had developed a bespoke program which uses ALV tree containers. The output screen has two areas the left side and the right side. When a node is selected on the left side and you double click on it the data is refreshed on the right hand side.

Problem:

After the upgrade from 4.6C to ECC the report does not work. We can see the output and when we click on the node on the left hand side the screen on the right hand side does not refresh. It behaves as if there is nothing happening.

When we try to debug the program seems to be working fine in the debug mode but however it does not refresh the screen on the right hand side. Any idea what is missing or how to resolve the issue?

Update.... we are using the std class GL_GUI_COLUMN_TREE.

the class GL_GUI_COLUMN_TREE don't even exists in SAP ECC 6.0

You meant CL_GUI_COLUMN_TREE?? Are you getting any error message or Dump? If so, can you share the details?

Oops it should have been CL_GUI_COLUMN_TREE instead of GL_

Nope ... i dont get any error message or any dump. When we double click on the node on the left hand side the screen on the right hand side needs to be refreshed but nothing happens in ECC 6.0

Everything works fine in 4.6C version. Only problem is with ECC 6.0

could the front end GUI be a problem? Though we have upgraded to a new ECC version we are still using old 6.20 GUI.

Hi,

I am not sure about GUI, but try upgrading to a 7.* version. It might solve the problem.

We tried with upgrading the GUI to 710 and it did not help. not sure what is wrong. I debuged it again and the flow of the program is exactally the same.

Still the ALV tree does not work in the new system(ECC 6.0) but it works in the old system(46B ). Not sure what to check

did you check the event for double click?

Yes the event double click is registered and it seems to be working fine in debugging.

When i double click on the node on the left hand side of the split container the right hand side of the screen is supposed to be refreshed with the details of the selected node. The code has been working in SAP 4.6B system for couple of years. Only after we upgraded to ECC6.0 it stopped working.

If we run on the new system the report output is displayed wihtout any issues. Only when you double clck the screen the right hand screen does not refresh with the selected nodes detailed view.

Have you checked Note 648967 & 1321054? Something similar to your problem.
