How to determie fields at runtime

Hi All,

I have created a table which is maintained via sm30.

The table has fields which mentions which table and which fiels the value should be updated.

Eg: table has field

field1 contains table name

field2 contains field name

field3 contains value of the field.

How can i update the field dynamically at runtime.

say field1 = bseg

field2 = budat

field3 = 20101223

Differrent table and fields are stored , the particular row is selected matching the key field.

Kindly help me to resolve this problem

You mention a standard SAP field and judging by your question you're new to ABAP.

Few words of advice: do NOT update the tables yourself, always try to find a function or create a recording of the transaction.

Are you designing a tool for corrupting your database integrity? Your example makes me shiver, to be honest (even though BSEG does not have a field BUDAT...).

What security measures are you implementing?

This should be clarified before any technical means of how to achieve this can be discussed. Those would be easy to find by searching the forums or looking at ABAP online help anyway.
