Automating PA40 process

Hi all,

i am currently trying to create a program that will automate a new employee entry in transaction PA40. This can be done using BDCs but i was wondering if there is a better solution, maybe through BAPIs.

Is there a BAPI that will run the process in PA40 of filling in the infotypes 0, 1, 2?

Hi,

What you mean by automate the process ? What is gonna be the trigger for the action and where would the data to be populated in the infotypes come from ?

If you have the infotype data in a file or something, yes you can use BAPI or FMs to automate the process instead of maintianing manually.

that is exactly the situation, i will have all the infotype data in a file that i will extrapolate. Which BAPI or FM can i use to replicate the hiring process from PA40, where i would like to fill infotypes 0, 1, 2?

You can use Function Module

HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION or HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA.

I tried the HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA, in the function module i put the DIALOG_MODE as 1 and i saw it was populating the info types that i wanted. So thank you for that.

However, when i reach Iinfotype 8, i dont want to maintain that IT, how can i cancel that screen dynamically and still save my input?
