Issues- Upload Excel File

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me the issues in uploading an excel file to ECC custom database tables.

When I browsed throught forums it says, its not a good practice to use excel file, instead of that use flat file with seperators to upload into tables.

What kind of file is recommended for loading into ECC custom table?. We nee

Hi Anand,

When you upload info from excel, you have to be careful with the format of the cells. Because it can result in uploading in the wrong format or uncompleted (missing leading zeros, etc.).

Personally, I prefer uploading data from Excel files, as its easier to fill, review and mantain.

Hi Anand,

If you use excel file to upload data then you have to format the data properly like leading zeros, text should be without quote marks etc.

Do the proper validation and conversions before using excel.
