1) Is this the best way to calculate prices? I mean, is this RFC best for e-Commerce?
Is there any other way?

Yes, Using the standard RFC is good idea and best to used. But i don't know it is best for e-commerce. You have to read the documentation of it. if it is satisfy your requiredment after testing then it is not bad.

2) If we are using the best tool, is this a normal situation of CPU?

it is taking long time to execution, It may be program problem and it is consuming the lots off CPU time.

but you have to trace it.

3) If not, where could I start? I made several profiling but nothing is really big to detect.
I mean, seems the RFC has this behavior.

If trace give the critical result then you have to write to sap or search for SAP note.

Hi,

We have here an SAP ECC 6.0 on Linux and Oracle 10.2.0.4.0. We have 2 application servers and 2 database servers.

We have here an complex tax calculation so a company develop an RFC to calculate prices based on this SD_SALESDOCUMENT_CREATE.

The problem is each call to this RFC is consuming 10% of CPU of our production machine. We have here a 8 Intel CPU's with excellent specification. Our SAP's count is good, but I'm concerned about concurrency users, because we will call this RFC from our eCommerce. Nowadays, we have 4.000 users online.

Please, I would like to know:

1)	Is this the best way to calculate prices? I mean, is this RFC best for e-Commerce? Is there any other way?

2)	If we are using the best tool, is this a normal situation of CPU?

3)	If not, where could I start? I'm thinking this RFC is not the best way to calculate price. I'll try to find the CRM solution.

Tks.

I mean, is this RFC best for e-Commerce? Is there any other way?

    - NO. There are possibilities with in SAP. RFC would be good to get the master details. But the Tax Calculations is for every transaction data. So Implement the same in SAP.

2) If we are using the best tool, is this a normal situation of CPU?

    - CPU utilzation would be less only. But is this 10% is when scheduled a back ground job.

3) If not, where could I start? I made several profiling but nothing is really big to detect. Sorry for the newbie questions:

1) When you say "So Implement the same in SAP". Would you like to say to me get the code for tax calculation and made this external?

2) The CPU has this behavior every time you call this on SE37 or call this on background.

Tks again.
