Dump Via Background

Hi Folks,

I have a custom report, which will internally call a smartform and download the same output as a pdf to local system(path will give in selection screen). If I excute the report in background , the job is cancelled and log says as

*TEMSE_OPEN o.k. for SPOOL0000020412*

*PDF data of length 54758 created*

*ABAP/4 processor: RAISE_EXCEPTION*

And If I goto that error analysis it says as

A RAISE statement in the program "CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES======CP" raised the

exception

condition "CNTL_ERROR".

Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior program

in the hierarchy, processing was terminated.

Short description of exception condition:

For detailed documentation of the exception condition, use

Transaction SE37 (Function Library). You can take the called

function module from the display of active calls.

Could anybody faced the same problem, please give some suggestions to rectify this issue.

Hi,

You cannot use CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES while running in background.. The other option is if you want to run it in background then go for application server instead of presention server.The output will be in the application server.Now for PDF download better go for emailing the PDF as you cannot download in presenttaion server.
