HI all i have a sceanrio like this

<b>1.</b>I want to trigger a Email to my personal mail ID whenever i execute a Remote Function Module and the Content of the mail should be a single row entry of a SAP DB table (EG. MARA).

<b>2.</b>The reply from the email must be processed and and the table entry should be modified based on this.

The Eg of this scenario travel approval mechanism.

will workflow be related to this anyway?

help required urgently

You can use class CL_BCS to construct and send a message. Do a where-used on the class in SE24 to find some examples (e.g. CL_BSP_TUT_MAIL).

Note that to perform the send requires a COMMIT. If your RFC contains an implicit commit, this should be fine, but you should just be aware of it. (I'm not sure offhand whether the end of an RFC performs a COMMIT, you may have to go read the documentation on that).

You can somehow process incoming mails, but I'm not sure how offhand. Go to transaction SCOT and read the help, also go to transaction SICF, because you may be able to implement a service that handles incoming mail from the SMTP server.

As an alternative to the users replying on a mail, you can put an HTLM form into your mail which will submit to a BSP application and then update the data.
